Celebrate your body's subtle enegry with Patrick's newest release - Chakra Celebration.

Chakras Celebration employs various Names of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, some names of great gods and goddess, specific tones, rhythms, spiritual sound vibrations and Holy Vocalizations to interact with the activities of our body-mind-spirit. Each chant is in direct relation with each chakra. Each tone and mantra is connected to a definite function of the physical body through the endocrine glands and the spinal system.

The chants are used to harmonize, balance and stimulate the flow of subtle energies of the chakras system, clearing negative thoughts and emotions which weaken the electro-magnetic emanations of the body, thus eliminating blockages. This recording uses the capacity of a sound vibration to reach out through vibrational waves to set off a similar vibration in another body. In this album, the focused use of the sound principle of sacred resonance serves as the foundation for all healing and enlightenment.

This album has required enormous help from my God-brother and friend, the producer Robert Lafond Mahavirya; without his insightful and extraordinary orchestration this recording could not have been made.

I composed the melodies in the course of two years. During this time, I gave numerous workshops for the harmonization of the chakras system in the United States and Canada, working with bhakti dance teacher Anuradha Dauphinais who performed parts of the backing vocals during the recordings sessions of this album. Throughout these two years, I received repeated positive comments about the efficiency of our technique which combine the healing power of music, mantra, mudra and visualization. This album is the fruit of these investigations.

I also bow in reverence, beyond simple gratitude, before my diksha and siksha spiritual masters, Bhaktivedanta Swami and Sridhar Dev Goswami. Everything I know is a direct result of their unmotivated love and grace.

I deeply believe in the power of sound, especially spiritual sound vibrations. To chant, or even simply listen to the Names of God will progressively cleanse our entire being. Chanting the names of different great demigods (like Shiva or Ganesha, or goddess Tara) can also increasingly inspire us to chant the Names of God. The demigods are servants of God (just like us) and they can assist us to find our way back to Godhead. Although there is no conflict between Thora, Bible, Koran or Veda, this album is dedicated to the Sanskrit mantra tradition. Nonetheless, the Names of God will fill our heart with peace, love and light in any language. Please listen, chant and be well.

Mantras and Chakras

1) Muladhara chakra (base of spine).
Om Hari Om.
Om is the primordial sound of the universe. This chant is peaceful, invoking the blessings of Mother Earth. Hari is a Holy Name. It means "the One who removes illusion". This mantra is said to evoke deep stillness. Listen to this chant everyday, and feel a growing sense of peace within yourself.

This mantra is associated with chakra one. Earth is the element of this first chakra, the Muladhara, or the root support, the foundation, the ground. The supporting structure of our inner temple interacts with our physical body, our work, our environment. When we increase our contact with the Earth, we find ourselves in harmony with the intelligence of Nature. This divine design is called Hari. The more we are in Hari Consciousness, the less we are in Maya Consciousness, or illusion. Nature is a conscious being and Hari is a Supreme Living Conscious Being. Through the root chakra we can build up a personal relationship with Nature and with the Supreme Lord Hari. We then feel a new sense of safety and security. All kinds of fears connected with the survival instinct simply disappear. We feel grounded and secure, even in the middle of uncertainty. Our physical health is improved. We are in Hari’s transcendental limbs. We are safe.

2) Svadhisthana chakra (sacral area).
Om Namah Shivaya Om Shakti Ma.
Lord Shiva is the supremely auspicious being. Shiva is inseparable from Shakti, his feminine counterpart. Through her only he can be known. Namah means "salutations" and "shivaya" means to Shiva. This mantra is the great redeeming mantra and is linked with water. Water is the element of the second chakra, svadhisthana, or “sweet place”.

Beneath heaven nothing is sweeter than water. Water is fluid and do not resist. The most sacred water, the Ganges water, flows eternally on Lord Shiva’s sacred head. Shiva can help us find our way to divine emotions and healthy sexuality. Our life becomes spiritually pleasurable. Coming in touch with Shiva and Shakti mean to harmonize our feminine and masculine aspects.

We embrace change and are not excessively sensitive anymore. Lord Shiva and Mother Shakti are great devas who can help us to gain access to emotional and devotional intelligence. Low back pain, genital diseases, stiffness in the muscles, kidneys, ovaries and menstrual troubles will gradually be forgotten.

Move, awaken your soul with passion, and do not resist new experiences. Your life is "svadhisthana", sweet and filled with graceful movements.

3) Manipura chakra (solar plexus).
Jay Ram Sri Ram Jay Jay Ram Patita Pavana Sita Ram.
Ram is a Divine Name. It means "reservoir of pleasure". Lord Rama came to Earth to restore righteousness. Sita is His absolute feminine counterpart. Sri is a term of respect and appreciation. Jay means joy or victory. Rama is patita pavana, or "the one who uplift us". This chant is related to the Manipura chakra.

Manipura is the "City of Jewels", the power of will, courage and action. From Earth to water to power, we harness our inner fire without suppressing it. Our self-esteem is then based on our immortal living force surviving the dissolution of matter. This eternal force is a part and parcel of Lord Rama, the Supreme King. When we see ourselves as indestructible servant of Rama, we are in union with the divine power of our real ego.

Lack of confidence, poor self-discipline, and lack of energy are changed into pure creativity. We develop a new positive regard for ourselves. As shame becomes a thing of the past, the fire of digestion is ignited and disorders of the liver, stomach and pancreas just go away. We are blessed by Mother Sita, the Great Queen of Ayodhya, the City of Righteousness.

4) Anahata chakra (heart).
Radha Govinda Radhe, Radhe.
Radhe, or Radha, is the Feminine and Compassionate Aspect of the Absolute. Govinda is the protector of the Earth, the senses and the sacred cows. Radha, Srimati Radharani, is one with Govinda. Together they form the Ultimate Divine Couple, loving each other with unconditional love. This mantra evokes a loving mood of tenderness, charm, longing and is linked with the chakra four.

We now enter the tender domain of beauty and love, the inner chamber of the heart. The Sanskrit name for this chakra is Anahata, or unstruck. Real love is "unstruck", or unconditional. It is self-sufficient. All we have to do is to remove the covering of our heart and let this divine love spring up spontaneously from the bottom of the heart.

It is already there. It is not an artificial imposition from outside. This occurs naturally when we receive the grace of our spiritual master and discover the infinite nature of the self within us and within others. The result of this discovery is pure joy. We find this joy in Radha-Govinda, present in the heart of all living entities. They care for us and love us. We are not lonely or isolated. Prayers and divine supports facilitate speed the healing process and give energy to the immune response through the thymus gland. No doubt that Sri Radha’s love for the innumerable parts and parcels of Her Supreme Lover Govinda will heal our heart.

5) Visuddha chakra (throat).
Om Tara Tum Tare Ture So Ha.
Om Tare Tam So Ha
The Tara mantra is a wish-fulfilling gem. Goddess Tara liberates beings from great fears that are the projections of negativities within the heart and mind. Goddess Tara is the Swift Savioress. Tara’s mantras project the essence of her enlightened speech. The sound of her divine verbal communication is the healing resonance of infinite consciousness and is therefore associated with the fifth chakra, Vissudha, or "purification".

This chakra is ruled by the element sound. Communicate with the soul by telling the truth without compromise. To speak authentically is to dance and live in harmony with our spirit soul. Goddess Tara is compassionate and she will give us the opportunity to open our voice. Through inner conversations, we connect with God in our heart. Through our communication, we unite with our human brothers and sisters here on Earth.

We find resonance with all that is communicating around us. Express your higher self. Be one with your deepest identity. Repressed communication position the neck and shoulders out of alignment and generate frustration and anger. Anger affects the thyroid gland, producing sleep disorders. Goddess Tara does not like gossiping and criticizing. If you have nothing important to say, remain silent. Silence is also a form of expression. The Tara mantra will wash away our excessive shyness, fear of being silent and apprehension of speaking the truth. Mother Tara will also inspire us to become a good listener.

6) Ajna chakra (brow).
Om Gam Ganapataye Namah.
Om Gum Namah
Om is the sound-form of the Infinite. Gam is the root or the seed (bija) of the mantra. Ganapataye refers to Lord Ganesha, the great deva, remover of all impediments. When some obstacle is in our way, Lord Ganesha’s mantra is the ultimate obstacle remover. Use this chant to achieve mental clarity and to get your project back on track. Remember that the mantra is not our supplier. On contrary, we are the servant of the mantra. Through the mantra we ask Lord Ganesha to facilitate our way back home, back to Godhead. Sri Ganapati (another name for Sri Ganesha) will encourage us to keep this vision in the core of our mind and will open our third eye, the ajna chakra.

Between our two physical eyes, the third eye is the domain of vision, sixth sense and wisdom. In Sanskrit, ajna means to command and to perceive. Cultivate your vision in your mind, hold a detailed picture of what you want to be manifested in your life and humbly ask Lord Ganesha, the great demigod, to remove all blockages between you and your vision. Your vision must be in harmony with the universe.

Lord Ganesha will also help us to destroy all the negative images we carry in our mind. Concentrate and focus on positive mental picture and blessings. The mantra will bring you memory, intuition, vivid dreams, insights and inspiration. It will convey light and health to your pineal gland which will be a new source of serotonin, melatonin and other important neurotransmitters.

7) Sahasrara (crown of head).
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
According to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the Avatar of divine love, this mantra is the Maha Mantra, or the great chant of deliverance for the present age (kali-Yuga). This sacred chant has been sung by saints, sages and devotees since time immemorial. We chant the glory of three beloved Aspects of the Absolute. The Holy Name "Hare" comes back eight times in the mantra, indicating that this Word is the sacred key which can reveal to us the secret of the Sound. "Hare" refers to Radhe, the Feminine Form of God. She is the Divine Mother, the Personification of all Spiritual Energies, inseparable from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. All women are emanations from Hare. This chant is charged with the full-fledged power of the Holy Names. "Krishna", is beauty, charm and love. Here the Name "Rama" is "the One who gives pleasure (Rama) to Hare (Radha)". He is therefore RadhaRaman. According to the ancient science of Japa-Yoga or Mantra-Yoga (the yoga of sound), the Name and the Named are one and the same. When we chant or simply listen to the Holy Names of God, we come in undeviating yoga (union) with the transcendental consciousness and stimulate our Brahmarandra Chakra situated at the top of the crown.

This chakra is the gateway to Heaven. It is also called Sahasrara, or the thousand lotus petal. Sahasrara chakra is the realm of divine unity. As spirit souls, we are one with the Absolute in quality. Yet we are different in quantity. This is the inconceivable simultaneity of unity in diversity (acintya bhedabheda tattva). The biggest blockage of Sahasrara chakra is religiosity, fanaticism and provincial interest in a particular religious institution or movement. Always remember that Christ or Krishna, the Name is the same.

Surcharged with "Hare", or Divine Shakti, this Maha Mantra will allow us to open our consciousness and sense the hidden presence of God everywhere. Rigid belief systems will be changed into open-mindedness, love and genuine spiritual emotions.

8) Brahma Gayatri Mantra
Om Bhur Bhuvah Svah Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo
Devasya Dhimahi Dhiyo Yo Nah Pracodayat Om.
Om-the seed mantra which contains everything within it; Bhur-the physical world; Bhuvah-the mental world; svah-the intellectual world; tat- that, the three planes of experience; savituh-the soul; Varenyam-worshippable, venerable; bhargo-the supersubjective area, the svarupa shakti; Devasya-who is beautiful and playful, Krsna, Reality the Beautiful; dhimahi-come meditate; dhiyah-of meditation, of service; yo-who; nah-us; pracodayat-enthuses our capacity.

This is the gayatri mantra. The word gayatri comes from two Sanskrit roots: ganat and trayate. "Trayate" means positive attainment to the final stage. And "ganat" means not mere sound, but musical sound. That musical sound which grants us the highest positive deliverance indicates the sankirtana of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (dancing and chanting the Names of God). Gayatri is the song which by singing we are freed, the music of divinity to help our highest need, a kind of song by which we can get our salvation, relief and emancipation. This mantra is the mother of the Veda.

Since the Vedic conclusion is given its fullest expression in the Srimad Bhagavatam, the gayatri mantra must contain within it the meaning of Srimad Bhagavatam, that is, that the personal and sweet conception of Godhead is the highest. We must determine our normal function in the organic whole- not mere emancipation from the negative side, but participation in a positive function in the domain of service. According to Sridhar Dev Goswami, the service of the Feminine Aspect of God (Radha-dasyam) is the ultimate meaning to be extracted from the gayatri mantra. The gayatri will excite us to be mindful about our Divine Mother’s lotus feet, to obey Her orders. This is the hidden truth of Sri BrahmaGayatri.
